Our backgrounds are mainly in bioinformatics, genetics, software development, and mathematics. As the Head of Legal you will work at the core of the Platomics team and closely with the management board, where you have the opportunity to directly influence the way how personalized medicine is going to impact the future.

 

As the Head of Legal you have the following responsibilities:

• Responsible for legal aspects concerning the strategic expansion of the company together with the management board

• Establish an enhanced, overarching legal roadmap/framework to cover all commercial activities of Platomics

• Work on a long-term strategy to offer “legal services” within the Platomics portfolio

• Create and monitor a legal framework to process und utilize highly sensitive data (genetic data, personalized data, etc.)

• Create a contractual basis for partnership agreements with different stakeholders in the diagnostic field – manufacturers, laboratories, consultants, regulatory authorities, physicians, etc.

• Maintain and update current legal documents (Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, etc.)

• Negotiate contractual agreements with partners and customers

• Support in the certification process of our medical software products and communication with responsible regulatory authorities (national/international) as well as with notified bodies

• Support in setting up ethics applications and clinical performance evaluations

• Development of quality checks, maintenance of controls and documentation procedures for various processes together with the regulatory department

• Review of existing policies and suggestions for changes and improvements

• Management of cross-department interactions to comply with all legal requirements

 

Required qualifications:

• Master's Degree or PhD in law

• 5+ years of experience working in a law firm or healthcare related company

• Enhanced knowledge of national medical law and genetic engineering law

• Enhanced knowledge of relevant European Regulations, in particular IVDR and MDR

• Good knowledge of data protection and privacy laws in place

• Good overview of related legal landscape(s) in Austria and Germany

• Experience in legal set-up and implications of ecommerce/software platforms

• Knowledge on certification process for medical devices

• Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and German

• Knowledge on further relevant standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and others)

• Project management and negotiating skills

• Basic understanding of human genetics

• Sense of responsibility, reliability, high carefulness and accuracy in the way of working

• Good problem-solving ability

The Platomics office is very conveniently located close to Praterstern, easily reachable via U1, U2, S-Bahn and ÖBB.

 

You’ll earn a salary starting at a minimum of EUR 70,000 per year (according to IT-KV). Willingness for over-payment is given for candidates with proper experience and/or qualifications.
